My VBS Checklist - 6 Weeks Out

It’s May! Easter parties have past and school is almost out, and if you are like me, that means that VBS planning is in full swing. I’ve got just six weeks until kick-off. Here’s what I’m making sure gets done in the next couple of weeks:
- Daily schedule set
- Start decoration prep (cutting, donation collecting, etc.)
- Start publicity
- Hold volunteer training
- Begin student registration
- Finish ordering supplies
- Continued prayers for the program!
What is on your to-do list?

We have chosen to do Truth Trek with the archaeological dig theme. I need to figure out how to get all of the sand in and out of the building. How are other churches handling bringing sand into their churches? Are you doing sand in pools or tubs? Are you using sheets or tarps to protect your carpet? Are you rotating kids through the “Bible Dig” section? How many pools of sand are you doing? How are you getting rid of the sand afterwards? Would love to have some input from other leaders about this. Thanks!
