VBS Cupcake Toppers

{ February 17th, 2012 }

Cupcake toppers are one of our most popular Freebie Friday printables. We wanted to give you cupcake toppers for several of the VBS themes for 2012, so you can begin using them now. Did you know that VBS Cupcake Toppers can be used for so much more than cupcakes?

Here are some of our favorite ways to use these VBS Cupcake Toppers:

1. Bag Tags – Toppers can be super cute added to a bag stuffed with goodies. Use the bags to wrap up your volunteers’ thank you gifts, or use them to hand out a snack for pre-VBS publicity.

2. Straw Tags – Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top and bottom of the circle. Then slip a straw through. Add to a drink or a bottle of water for a volunteer treat during VBS, or let kids have one with their drink during snack time.

3. Buttons – Use a button maker, buy our design-your-own buttons, or just add an adhesive pin to the back of the circles to create fun buttons.

4. Puppets – Add a craft stick or toothpick and let kids use them as little puppets!

Happy New Year and Freebies are Back!

{ January 13th, 2012 }

Happy 2012! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and were able to spend some precious time with the ones you love. We also hope you had some time to reflect on 2011 and get excited about all your plans for this new year.

We are thrilled to tell you that our catalog went to the printer this week, and we can’t wait for you to see it! It should be in your mailboxes by the end of the month. We’ll have products online before that, and we will let you know as soon as everything is up.

For our children’s ministers and VBS planners out there, are you ready to start planning for VBS 2012? Last week we were in Ridgecrest, NC for Lifeway’s VBS Preview Event. This week we are in Orlando for INCM’s Children’s Pastor’s Conference. We hear how excited you are about VBS 2012, and we know you want to see what your craft options will be. While the catalog is at the printer and products are not online quite yet, we are happy to give you a digital version of our VBS pages. These products aren’t available for ordering yet, but we hope your planning will benefit from seeing these pages a little early. Click to see these pages now!

Finally, we are thrilled to say that Freebie Fridays are back. Again this year, we’ll give you Freebies most Fridays to help you in your programming. Please remember that we are trying to offer Freebies for our churches, libraries, camps, schools – well you get the idea. So if the Freebie for the week doesn’t interest you, check back the following week. And you can always access our Freebie Friday archive.

This week’s Freebie Friday is a 2012 VBS Memory Verse Mix Up featuring Jeremiah 29:11. We think this verse is a great way for kids to start the New Year! Just cut out and then mix up. Kids can put the verse back in order to help them memorize the verse. Makes a great game, too!

It’s time to say thanks! For this week’s freebie, we bring you printable Thanksgiving cards and tags. These are some adorable and affordable ways to say “I’m thankful for you.” Use our thankful message tags on cookie bags, napkin rings, in lunch boxes, and more to tell that special someone how thankful you really are!

The cards can be used in lots of ways! Write a thank you message and leave it in a noticeable place, like on an office desk or on a refrigerator, or just hand it to someone to brighten their day. Or use the lined card to have kids write things they are thankful for. They are also a great way for your group to decorate Thanksgiving themed bulletin boards or a table at a Thanksgiving Day feast.

We want to challenge you to take the time to write a special message or wrap up a small gift to thank all the volunteers in your organization. We know how important volunteers are to you and we hope that these printable Thanksgiving cards and tags will give you an easy way to show your appreciation.
